While in the Kimberley make sure you also visit award winning Kooljaman at Cape Leveque, home of the iconic red cliffs featured in the Qantas advert “I still call Australia home”, turn North just before Broome.
This location can certainly provide you with the colours of the Kimberley, living indigenous culture and tours, amazing birdlife, unique history from WW2, a 1911 lighthouse and now equal first cleanest beach in Australia. Be quick again as only half the 200km trip in is asphalt, adding to the adventure.

I am amazed and proud that Armidale rated no 3. I am a local and I moved to the gold coast in my twenties but moved back later in my twenties as it is such a lovely place to live. Friendly, very diverse, lovely food, great music scene and a great place to raise a family. I wouldn’t live anywhere else….

You could also add for Armidale the magnificently colourful deciduous Autumns and the network of awesome gorges carved out of the New England tableland and the superb collection of victorian, art nouveau and art deco buildings.

I’m thrilled to see Armidale here and so high on the list. I moved here 24 years ago from Sydney with the intention of staying maybe a year – needless to say the beautiful countryside, the friendly and diverse population, the art and culture and so much more have kept me here. It’s home now and always will be!

I am sure you forgot the Central Coast of NSW – best beaches in Australia, wonderful diving on our very own Ex HMAS Adelaide – fabulous bushland to explore and some of the best restaurants you will ever eat at.

I also love Armidale for all the reasons that already have been stated but the sporting facilities are outstanding and the climate!!!!
