This cult bathhouse has just opened in Melbourne and Sydney

Nimbus Co. is set to open yet another new venue, blending ancient wellness practices with mindful design.

With popular locations already in wellness hotspots like Byron Bay, Bondi and Neutral Bay, Nimbus Co has opened the doors to its seventh studio in Melbourne’s trendy suburb of Fitzroy (officially) on 8 May, after just having opened number six in Sydney’s Queenscliff.

Founded in Bondi, Nimbus Co. made a name for itself with carefully designed therapeutic spaces that are designed to enhance wellness through extremes. It’s all about opposing temperatures, jumping between hot and cold in saunas, ice baths and LED lounges.

The Fitzroy studio blends into its trendy surrounds.

“Fitzroy is a natural home for Nimbus. It’s a neighbourhood that appreciates conscious living and creativity,” says co-founder Neil O’Sullivan. “A lot of thought, time and care has gone into bringing this space to life – it’s been a real passion project. We wanted to create something that feels restorative and grounded, but also culturally connected – where health is woven into the rhythm of daily life, not set apart from it”.

The Fitzroy studio will demonstrate the wellness brand’s evolution – from heritage architecture to reflect the character of the suburb, to an earthy brown colour palette for relaxation (all designed in collaboration with MIMA Architects), to its offered services.

Every detail has been chosen with intention, to create a calming environment to unwind in. From recycled fittings and recycled timber front door, lighting by Objects for Thought and HAY, filtered showers by Fettle, Leif body products and even a bespoke stained-glass piece by Brunswick-based artist Eloise McCullough.

As always, find private infrared sauna rooms, ice bath rooms, and contrast therapy suites featuring either infrared or traditional saunas. There will also be a compression boots recovery lounge, massage therapy, facials, head spa and a multipurpose event space designed to host workshops, classes, and community events.. If you love your experience, you can take it home with you at the on-site retail store.
